Under the hood, the engine choices are legion. There are four engines to choose from: an EcoDiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque; a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 delivering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 delivering 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 featuring eTorque technology for improved efficiency and greater towing capacity.

Towing capacity ranges from 7,730 lb to 12,750 lb (3,506 kg to 5,783 kg) in the 2022 Ram 1500 while the HD 2500 and 3500 models can tow up to 35,100 lbs. (15,931 kg).
